Every letterpress piece in our shop is printed on one of two vintage presses. Our Chandler & Price Pilot is a compact, hand-operated tabletop press perfect for small runs of cards and notes, where each sheet is fed and pressed by hand. Our larger press, a Vandercook SP-15, is a cylinder proof press long loved by printers for its precision. We use it for bigger pieces and deeper, crisper impressions. Both presses were built decades ago and are still going strong, and printing on them is slow, hands-on work. Each piece is inked and pressed one at a time, which gives it the deep impression and texture you can feel with your fingertips, and makes every piece just slightly unique.
